What we do and Who we are

Executive Solutions Consultancy are the Interim Management specialists with a wealth of experience, primarily, but not exclusively, in the FMCG Manufacturing Industry. Mark Cooper is a high-achieving, adaptable Interim Director, who has a proven track record of transformational change management across a diverse range of businesses, leading to performance improvement, profit growth and increased shareholder value. With a background as a Chartered Engineer and CIMA Accountant, extensive experience has been built up over 30 years, in blue chip and private organisations; clients include RHM/Premier Foods, Mizkan, KP Snacks, Twinings, and Royal Mail. As a catalyst to change, it is clear that the exceptional can be achieved, through people and teamwork.

ESC provides a full range of services to the industry ranging from Interim Management through to Due Diligence. Mark is currently also taking on Non Executive Directorship roles to add to his portfolio.

Do You Need Interim Management?

Teamwork Interim Management

Interim Management can be seen as the short-term assignment of a proven heavyweight interim executive manager to manage a period of transition, crisis or change within an organisation. In this situation, a permanent role may be unnecessary or impossible to find at short notice.

Often it is asked what the difference is between Interim Management and Management Consultancy; an interim manager recommends an approach, agrees this and then implements changes and solutions whilst on assignment, whereby management consultants tend to recommend a number of alternatives and then leave it to the client to implement them.

They are often trained in theoretical techniques and don’t have as much hands-on experience as an interim manager.

The FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) Manufacturing Industry is defined as where products manufactured are sold quickly, and at relatively low cost. FMCG is probably the most classic case of a low margin/high volume sector.

Over the last 20 years, because of the pressure exerted on price by the retailers, transformational change management has been necessitated to ensure tight margins remain positive. Interim Management has been key to keep up with this requirement.

Lessons learned in FMCG are now being utilised in pharmaceuticals, and other industries where margins have been historically larger, but have recently been under pressure.
